There are many stumbling blocks in the espresso preparation chain that can have a negative impact on the quality of the espresso. Although the dosage, grind and also the correct machine settings have been made, you still don’t always get the best out of the coffee bean.
Our tamper is ergonomically shaped to guarantee repeatable, clean and even production of a straight coffee puck. Simply place the tamper on the sieve filled with ground coffee and apply pressure via the well-shaped handle. The high dead weight of the solid tamper ensures even compression of the coffee grounds. The flanks of the tamper are deliberately not manufactured at a 90 degree angle, but taper towards the lower part. This allows a very precise fit without jamming in the sieve and also compresses the ground coffee very cleanly at the edge. This keeps the brewing group clean and enables the best extraction.
The diameter of the punch is precisely designed so that the tamper always works with the appropriate sieves depending on the size selected. Please note that one must always choose a diameter of 53 mm for Sage Barista machines.
Unlike many tampers from other manufacturers, this one is made from a single piece of solid stainless steel. The tamper is perfectly crafted, a real barista tool that you won’t want to do without in your everyday life.
